Näin hänen tippuvan
pääsikö pois, vai joutuiko lähtemään?
hymy huulillaan, vai suru silmissään

miksi noin vain astui tyhjään?
katuiko sittenkin lentäessään

mutta näin hänen tippuvan,
koko pisara kerrallaan

sen lyhyen ikuisuuden, tavallaan
veti minutkin mukanaan
ja niin me putosimme, kaksistaan.

did they get out, or were they impelled?
smiling, or eyes with sorrow swelled

why did they step into nothing?
their flight, did they end up regretting

but I saw them fall,
a whole drop of water

for that blink of an eye, somehow forever
they took me, and we fell together.
