Hukkuminen / The drowning
Kylmällä kivellä selälläni makaan
pää levälläni tunnen maan vakaan
vielä mullasta möngertääkkö takaisin esiin
vai sukeltaakko vain hyisimpiin vesiin
pakkaseen paleltua, kalikaksi jäätyä
hankeen tai alle jään menehtymään päätyä
yhä pimeään painun syvemmälle
en kauho kohti kaukaista pintaa
hukun pohjaan vailla vastarintaa
tappaa minkki telkänpoikaset pesiin
pysähdys merivirtojen hallat tuo kesiin
mätä ruumiini hetkeksi saa kokonaan
kunnes ylös ongitaan, hautaan pakotetaan
kylmä kivi yksin jää näkösälle.
--
I'm lying down, my back against the cold stone
I feel the stable earth, having problems on my own
should I yet again myself from under the dirt revive
or just fully into the glacial waters dive
frost over in the cold, to frozen solid turn
from the snow or under the ice, to end up in an urn
I'm falling ever deeper into the dark, still
I won't struggle towards the faraway surface anymore
I'll drown to the bottom, accepting losing the war
a mink the goldeneye chicks in their nest kills
the sea currents stopping, the summers with frost fills
for a moment the rot gets my corpse to eat
before it's fished out, and forced a grave to greet
only a cold stone alone left to be seen, will.
