A Lemon

Birds circle in the smoke-black sky,
With now and then a melancholy cry
So full of sadness
For the madness
That's left the Nature bleeding to die

Cut deep, deep into its flesh.

Tear off your eyes so that you can see
Cut away your ears so that you can hear
Peel off your skin so that you can feel
And weep,
Weep for the lunacy

Taste the nectar's bitterness.

Trees once so high and full of life
Carrying fruits so sweet and ripe
Are now bleeding to death
With their last breath
Wasted in the blackest strife.

Feel its life-juice burn in your throat.

Tear off your eyes so that you can see
Cut away your ears so that you can hear
Peel off your skin so that you can feel
And weep,
Weep for the agony

Suffer the blisters where it has flowed.

The wind roams through the blackest sky
Knowing that the end is nigh,
Life-force now so weak and hollow
will not last the day to follow
The Earth's been raped and left to die.

Don't reject the truth that is shown.

Tear off your eyes so that you can see
Cut away your ears so that you can hear
Peel off your skin so that you can feel
And weep,
Weep for the cruelty

For only then, if ever, you'll know.
