I dreamt

I dreamt the sky fell
I dreamt it swallowed us all
I dreamt from the midst of this darkness I found you
astray and homeless
scared of what may befall

But I dreamt my skin was stellar
and so

I peeled my moles off one by one
pores oozing the light of the Sun
Sirius Canopus Arcturus Vega
I dreamt I pinned them all back
one by one

And yet it was dark
and yet you couldn’t see
But I dreamt my nails were sharp as knives
and so

I carved out the chambers of my heart
Let my veins fill them with light
for this heart will be your Northern Star
the light that will hold up the sky

I dreamt the sky fell

and I made sure
no harm to you would ever befall
